UGLY DOG RACING
This was a fun project.
Client (cyclery owner) wanted to create a logo/brand “Ugly Dog Racing”, based on their awesome German Wirehaired Pointer - Thor. They provided a few snapshots and I went to work and started sketching away some ideas.
After few rounds of sketching, the ugly dog started to emerge...
...but we didn’t have the heart to portray Thor as “ugly” as initially intended. The client also wanted to emphasize Thor's expressive eyes.
So after some refinements and tweaking, we ended up with what the client was looking for. We softened Thor up, while preserving his characteristic features and we were ready to go from graphite to pixels.
